SCHOOL DRAMA!

On the 16th of April, we started the Easter holidays! Well... you could call it holidays but really, with all the studying/homework/preparing for our third and last term, we couldn´t relax.

On the last week of the second term we arrive at class and we are bombarded with homework for the holidays. OK, one teacher gives us something that’s easy, another something that can be done in 30 minutes. We don’t mind. But if you add; the little amount of homework that “that” teacher gives us, plus the little amount of homework that “that” teacher gives us, plus the easy homework that “that” teacher gives us, plus the easy homework that “that” teacher gives us, and so on, IT ISNT A SMALL AMOUNT OF HOMEWORK!! For me, seriously, the worst part is when our teachers say, enjoy your holidays, after giving us the enormous list of homework.

Some of us do our homework at the beginning of the holidays; others of us leave it for the last minute. These problems are ours, but still... I agree totally with homework, because if we didn`t have homework, well, we would forget most of the things we have learnt in school, but...

Perhaps all of the teachers should have a meeting before the holidays to put in common the amount of homework we are going to be sent so that it balances out.

I talk for every teen when I say this; how do our teachers want us to enjoy our holiday when they give us so much homework?

  1. I totally agree with you, I've been all the Easter holidays doing homework and tasks my teachers have told me to do. I worried a lot because I thought I wasn't having time to be with my friends and my family, however I was wrong and I had some time to be with them. Although I had some time to have fun, I remember I thought as you when the teachers told me to enjoy the holidays. On the other hand, we have to be positive and think that in less than two months we will have summer holidays, which are the best ones.
This was an interesting article, I'll continue reading you.

    1. Thanks! I am pleased that you related to my article, the truth is, I am one of the people that leave their homework for the last minute, all though I always have time to do it. Perhaps I should start to do it at the beggining of the holidays. But even if I did, starting school again makes you nervous anyway so for me particullarly, it wouldn´t make a difference...
      YES, SUMMER!!! I can´t wait!
      Thanks for reading :)

  2. I agree with you practically, in the ten lessons we have every one puts us homework and that is not fair, when they put us homework they should think in us too.
Apart from this I am one of those people who does the homework in the last moment and I end really nervous and I always forget something.
    This is a greeat post!!!!

    1. It´s true!
Me too, I leave it for the last moment, but like I said to Isabel (last comment) "I am one of the people that leave their homework for the last minute, all though I always have time to do it. Perhaps I should start to do it at the beggining of the holidays. But even if I did, starting school again makes you nervous anyway so for me particullarly, it wouldn´t make a difference..."
Thanks for commenting, and I´m happy you enjoyed it :)

  3. That´s the current situation for almost all world students. However I think this is not always the right way to get better academical results. I read an article on the net which said that in Finland, students don´t have homework, and when they have, it is very light. This get me surprised as they obtain much better results. Maybe it is a better way...

  4. I think the same as you. Holidays should be spent by enjoying these free days that have been given to us, not by doing lost of homework. Moreover, sometimes our parents do plans for us and we spent those days travelling so we don´t have enough time to do everything properly.

  5. I agree too with you. Teachers always think that we have all the weekend or all the holidays to do the homework that they send to us. However, we are tired of having exams and homework during the term. We just want to relax and have free time. Is it expecting too much?

  6. I love this post, it describes perfectly how I feel when we have a long weekend. Everyone say: WOW two days and we will have a lot of free time. When you hear this you think: Where do you live? Do you study? I have more tasks than hours in the long weekend and when we come back we have three exams and your ears start to get red and smoke comes out through them. Sometimes I prefer not to have a long weekend because teachers thought we only have one subject and when my Chemistry teacher starts saying the homework in the exercise numer 15 and finishes in the number 40 I laugh in order not to cry because believe me, my Maths teacher does the same. All in all, summer is the only holiday students can really enjoy (If they have passed all their subjects of course)

  7. Thank to God, these type of situations is finishing and in my case, these is the last weekend of study and then... We are free for three months. Our awaited summer holidays. At the begging of the year, I think these days nerver come but everything has its rewards.

  8. I agree totally with this post, because many of us leave the hollyday´s homework for the last minute. On the other hand, we have to be happy because in a few days, Summertime will arrive, and most of us will go to Broadstairs (England), summer camps, etc.
For sure, I feel very identified with this post.

  9. This post will be much interesanting and recomended for all the teachers, that think that it only exists his or her subject, yes, it is true, that they have also more pupils than us, but we also have 10 subjects more, and they have to know taht we can´t with all, they are there for helping us for make easier our study and giving us all that they know and make our last term less stressful and more relaxing for having better mark at the final.
